I have continual virus warnings despite doing full scans that show computer is OK

For a start get a decent anti-virus program Norton is one of the worst and it slows your PC down. I use AVG and it has never given me a problem.
for windows you do that from the internet option from tools in inter net explorer.

for norton you have to set the settings

well if your norton is a litle oldish get the new one or get a decent one ifi still doesn't work well go to microsoft website for technical help(or ask a technaichan etc.)
