when i try to log in a window appears and and explains that a problem with compatibility between windows and my acer computers security

Not sure what security you are using - but it sounds like the Firewall is blocking access - you should be able to go to your firewall settings and make an exception for Windows Live

It might be problem with your firewall preventing you accessing it ,as it may not be on your allowed list to access the internet and the firewall has prevented it doing so because of this . Try temperarlly taking the firewall off and signing in . If you can sign into messenger then , then your firewall settings need to be changed to always allow messenger to access the internet when signed in i hope this helps you ok .
